A day to get acquainted.

The women's short track team took to the streets today to explore and to get some fresh Vancouver air. It was a great day to get acquainted with our surroundings via electric bicycles borrowed from the COC. We stopped for a little photo shoot near the entry to False Creek...

Some interesting sculptures have gone up in Vancouver since our last visit. These "liquid mercury" looking ones are quite impressive....

As we were returning back to the Olympic village, we came across a gentleman who was extremely skilled at, well, balancing rocks. Seems odd but is actually one of the most incredible things to see...

They look as if they are defying gravity, or tempting it. His ability to salute the Olympics was evident in the number of Inuksuks setup along the rocks as well...

The number of teams in the Olympic village has increased significantly since yesterday. It's likely going to be a very busy place as we get closer to opening ceremonies day. I'm not sure yet if I'll be marching in the opening ceremonies. It will depend on the number of athletes that choose to participate and how many extra places are available. I'm looking forward to that possibility!

Yay! I'll be cheering! Hopefully I'll see you in the ceremonies, but if not, know that I'm rooting for you guys!
